HUGZZIES Review and Giveaway

***I received this Huggzies in exchange for writing a review on my blog. However, All the thoughts and opinions expressed in this blog are my own.***

Being a Mummy to 2 sons diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, also known as Sensory Differences. I am always on the look out for products to meet their sensory needs. Anything to make their lives that little bit easier and more bearable.

What Is A Hugzzies?

Hugzzies are a super soft teddy bear with a microwavable lavender infused wheat bag inside that hugs around the waist giving the feeling of a warm hug, for use at home or on the go.
Whether your child’s Hugzzies are used for a warm hug on those cold nights or the friend that carries their toys. From Dexter the Dog to Betty the Bunny there’s a Hugzzies character that your child will love.
Can be used with or without the wheat bag for use as a warmer or children’s toy bag.

Why Hugzzies?

• A Super soft high quality Individual Character Teddy Bear

• Velcro Waist band

• Removable lavender infused microwaveable wheat bag

• Children’s bum bag for toys

• Hugzzies can be used either Hot or Cold

• Helps and eases pain relief

• Bodywarmer

• Keeping cool in the summer

When I came across Huggzies, I thought it would be a great product for my son Mckenzie to try and for us to review.

Our Huggzies. McKenzie chose Dexter Dog

Mckenzie is both a sensory seeker and avoider. His olfactory which is sense of smell is heightened. When in a calm state and low on the arousal cycle, Mckenzie likes cuddles and soft touch.

On the day we received our Huggzies Mckenzie was off school. He wasn’t feel too good and his senses were heightened. He was very unsettled in himself. It was the perfect opportunity to give Huggzies a try, in a bid to settle and soothe him.

The Huggzies is very soft and smooth to touch.

Huggzies is straight forward to use. There is a velcro fastened pouch at the back of the characters head. Inside the pouch is a  removable lavender infused microwaveable wheat bag. All you need  to do is pop the wheat bag into the microwave for 30 seconds. Then pop it back into the pouch. It does come with an instruction sheet.

Once the wheat bag was warmed up the smell of lavender was very strong, but not over powering. It was very pleasant. Mckenzie seemed to like it.

I have heard a lot about the beneficial use of lavender such as it

  • Reduces anxiety and emotional stress.
  • Improves sleep.
  • Alleviates headaches.
  • Relieves pain.
  • Increases cognitive function
  • Battles respiratory tract infections
  • Boosts immunity and digestive health

All so the benefit of heat

Applying heat to your body increases the blood circulation. The warmth decreases muscle spasm, relaxes tense muscles and relieves pain.

The straps on the Huggzies are velcro and are very ‘giving’, there was plenty left over once strapped around Mckenzies waist.

Overall, it was successful. Mckenzie loved having something to snuggle into. But also the scent of the lavender and the warmth from the wheat bag.

Caelan, my 4th born son, loved the fact that he could put his toys in the Huggzies and carry them around with him. He has taken a liking to Carly the Cat so this will be my next purchase for him.

This can also be used as a bedtime comfort and a comfort when a child is feeling under the weather. I have to admit, I have been pinching it on an evening when Mckenzie hasn’t felt the need to use it. The smell of lavender is soooo relaxing!
