A week with us 4th september 2017- 10th September 2017
This week has been so hectic and busy! Hence the later than usual post. We’ve had birthdays, back to school, sensory overloads and the rest.
We have had all of our boys go back to school and nursery. Cameron is now in year 10. Harvey started secondary school. Mckenzie is now in year 2. Caelan started school and Cohen went back to nursery without his big brother by his side.
Childminding is in full swing Back to school routines with our mindees. New starters, term time only children are back. It’s all change for every one.
Mckenzie has really struggled with the changes going on this week. We had already prepared ourselves and were expecting with his anxiety levels to be high. We feel that we have taken a massive step backwards. All of his emotions have been mixed up, he’s struggled to self regulate and his need to move and sensory seek has increased. He’s been all over the place, not knowing what he wants and needing us to guide him a little so he gains back his control. It really breaks my heart watching him struggle with everyday life.
It was Harvey’s 12th Birthday on Tuesday. The day he returned to school and his first day at secondary school. How unlucky is that? He was up and ready and excited at the fact he was going to school and it was his birthday. On the evening Harvey chose to go to Chiquitos for a family meal for his birthday. We all had a great time. We are a massive fan of Mexican food. I love to have a family meal out every now and again. It was lovely to have the staff at Chiquitos to compliment on how well behaved our boys were. It made my day. Being a Mum of 5 boys, I do get some nasty and stereotypical comments.
On Saturday it was Caelan’s 5th Birthday. We had a quiet day. Mainly as our boys were exhausted from their week at school. We didn’t want to over stimulate them and their sensory issues. Later in the afternoon we went to Ruff and Tumble soft play, which was Caelan’s choice. I’m not quite sure who the bigger kids are in our family as myself and Matthew had a great run around too.
Thats 2 birthdays down, 3 to go before Christmas.
I will be on time this week!
